Elering

Strategic infrastructure company chose the HRM4Baltics solution

All pipelines must work flawlessly if you are an independent combined electricity and gas system operator in Estonia!

Elering uses Business Central ERP software for almost all supply chain management and the HRM4Baltics application on the same platform for human resources management. Elering endeavours to firmly integrate the Baltic energy markets with the wider European network, entailing the disconnection of the electricity system from Russia, and integrating it into the European Union's electricity grid. Elering's primary goal is the creation of a regional gas market covering Finland and the Baltic States. A significant part of Elering's investments are projects for the construction of cross-border connections, the aim of which is to ensure the free flow of energy in the European energy market.

Challenges

  • Company-specific requirements to reduce the amount of manual entries and duplication
  • State accounting entity
  • The need to calculate working time and remuneration for EU projects
  • Employee self-service portal for automatic and paperless submission of holiday applications, expenditure reports and other applications

Solution

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is used as the ERP software, with the addition of HRM4Baltics.

• HRM4Baltics Extended package
• X-Road services: Employment register (TÖR), Health Insurance Fund
• Intranet interface

Outcome

  • Automated payroll and HR data management
  • All functionality in one product, no need for duplicate data entry. This means that the ERP is in the same solution as well, allowing you to automatically create a vendor and resource card from the employee card into the financial module and keep the data in sync
  • Project-based timesheet management, ie employees enter their own working hours
  • Automatically sending timesheet projects from the projects module to the HRM4Baltics solution
  • Wage capitalisation
  • Configuration for a state accounting entity
  • All employees are users of the self-service portal and the entire functionality of the self-service portal is used – holiday applications, various expense reports, event and secondment requests, secondment expense reports, requests to change personal data

‘The crucial aspect is consolidating all essential data into one place, ie all employees handle the same numbers. While adapting to new software may be easier for some and more challenging for others, the ultimate objective should be evident to all: a more efficient and error-free work environment.’
